Being Placed in Group L along with Benin republic, sierra Leone, and Lesotho.
Having played their first match with Benin republic

3. Sierra Leone 4-4 Nigeria
4. Sierra Leone 0-0 Nigeria
5. Benin 0-1 Nigeria
